CHADRON – A recent bioblitz project aimed at increasing awareness of the biological diversity in the environment yielded about 40 specimens of insects, plants and mosses from C-Hill on the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College campus, despite spring storms that reduced participation and made planning for the event difficult, according to CSC professor Mathew Brust. He and other CSC science instructors intend to have more activities like the one April 6.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets from Black Hills State University, ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College and South Dakota School of Mines & Technology gathered in Rapid City, South Dakota, March 22-24 for their culminating Field Training Experience (FTX). The multi-day event at West Camp Rapid included rifle marksmanship and land navigation exercises.

CHADRON – Dr. Eric Rapp, an assistant professor who teaches in the Education department, has a passion for Norway that weaves its way through his daily life. During his Graves Lecture April 16 he described several of his favorite aspects of Norwegian culture including food, pastimes and customs.

CHADRON – ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College will have a new food service provider at the beginning of the upcoming fiscal year. A’viands, based in Roseville, Minnesota, will become the college’s food service vendor July 1, 2019.

CHADRON – ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College will celebrate Graduate Commencement Saturday at 8 a.m. in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium. The speaker will be Dr. Robert Knight, a professor retiring from the Justice Studies, Social Sciences and English Department after 11 years.

CHADRON –Dr. Katherine Kral-O’Brien, a Practitioner in Residence at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College, will present “Pollinators on Rangelands” Wednesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center.
