CHADRON – A successful year-long student teaching pilot with 10 ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College students at three Nebraska partner school districts in ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ, Scottsbluff and Sidney, has paved the way for the Education department to expand the new format to 16 Nebraska school districts and two in Wyoming this fall.

CHADRON – A trip to Indiana University's Lilly Library in May gave a ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College student and a faculty member an opportunity to view and touch some of the historic pieces of literature that have shaped the culture of the English-speaking world, as well as a chance to access primary research materials for their writing projects.

CHADRON – English Assistant Professor Dr. Mary Clai Jones represented ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College May 30-31 at a British Association of Victorian Studies conference in Italy. She presented a paper about the late English essayist Vernon Lee’s environmental activism. Vernon Lee was the pseudonym of Violet Paget, who died in 1935.

CHADRON – Although she doesn’t follow the diet herself, ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College Psychological Sciences Professor Dr. Mary Jo Carnot has become part of a research team studying the beneficial health effects of eating primarily plant-based foods that are high in nutrient density.

CHADRON – Wyoming’s 2019 Teacher of the Year Valerie Bruce credits the award, in large part, to knowledge she gained while earning a master’s degree in Education Administration from ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College in 2017. Bruce teaches first grade at Rozet Elementary, a rural school near Gillette.

CHADRON – Although developing officers for the United States Army, National Guard, and Reserve is a primary aim of the Military Science and Leadership program at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College, the program has benefits for students who aren’t intent on a military job or career, according to Capt. Scot Mullis, the instructor for most of the MSL classes offered at CSC.
