CHADRON – The Nebraska Sandhills are on center stage at the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center with an exhibit titled “The Sand in Our Art.” Artwork by Trudy Denham, assistant professor at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College, and former ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç resident Linda Teahon will be on display Sept. 3 through Oct. 25.

CHADRON – After spending the summer working on advanced biomedical research projects, two ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College students, Wacey Gallegos from Ainsworth, Nebraska, and Lelisse Umeta, from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, had the opportunity to present results of their work at a recent science conference in Nebraska City.

CHADRON – Dr. Charles Snare, ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, will retire in January 2020. Snare, an administrator at the college since 2006, made his announcement at the college’s all-campus meeting Friday.

CHADRON – ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College faculty and students are assisting with the Bioblitz, a learning event about biodiversity, at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State Park on Friday, Sept. 6 and Saturday, Sept. 7. Events start Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 7 a.m., are free and designed for families. A valid Nebraska Game and Parks Commission permit is required for entry to the park.

CHADRON – Earning a bachelor’s degree in Communication at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College was a formative step for 2013 graduate T.J Thomson, and a stepping stone to an academic career that has recently been recognized with an international award for research on communication and journalism.
