LINCOLN – The devastation caused by the recent flooding and blizzard will have far-reaching impacts on a number of ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges’ students who come from all corners of Nebraska. To help alleviate some of the financial hardships on returning and incoming students and families affected by the natural disasters, the Nebraska State College System (NSCS) is launching the 2019 Disaster Relief Tuition Waiver Program.

CHADRON -- At 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 1993, in Memorial Hall on the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College campus, Carola Winkle raised her baton and led a group of some 30 musicians from ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç and surrounding communities in the first 90-minute rehearsal of the Bordeaux Community Band.

ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College reporter George Ledbetter recently had a question and answer interview with Director of Institutional Research Malinda Linegar about the college’s efforts toward retention of students. Retention is one of the four components of the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan (SEMP), and Linegar chairs the committee devoted to it.

CHADRON – The Spring Senior Art Show, “Mindscape,” will be on display in Memorial Hall’s Main Gallery Monday through April 5. A reception for the artists will be Friday, March 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Lobby. Regular show hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

LINCOLN – The Nebraska State Colleges Board of Trustees selected Dr. Tracy Nobiling as the 2019 Teaching Excellence Award Recipient for the Nebraska State College System. Nobiling was selected during the Board of Trustees meeting March 21 and will be celebrated during the spring commencement ceremony at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College on May 4, 2019.
