CHADRON – Western District History Day will be at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College Friday, March 1. Approximately 50 students from ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Middle School, ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç High School, Crawford Middle/High School, and Sioux County Schools will compete in the 13th annual event hosted at CSC.

CHADRON – Heather Shumaker, author of two books about pre-school play, spoke about her renegade rules for pre-school children at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College’s 30th annual Excellence in Early Childhood Conference Saturday. Dr. Kim Madsen, professor in the School of Applied Sciences, said the event was well-attended by child care providers from the region, as well CSC students studying Family and Consumer Science and Elementary Education.

CHADRON – The Big Event staff will host its annual The Big White Out Friday, Feb. 15, at the Chicoine Center during ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College’s women’s and men’s basketball games against South Dakota School of Mines. The women’s game begins at 5:30 p.m. and the men’s will follow at 7:30 p.m.

CHADRON – Five Nebraska students have been accepted into the Rural Law Opportunities Program (RLOP) at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College. They are Hunter Rathjen and Zach Kring of North Platte, Micah Stouffer of ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ, TeAnna Tenopir of Waverly, Scott Wheeler of Imperial. Kring will join RLOP in 2020 after a deferral to complete a youth exchange program in Argentina.

CHADRON – The ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College Theatre Department will perform “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” by Christopher Durang Feb. 14-17, in Memorial Hall’s Black Box Theatre. The Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m., and the Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m.
