CHADRON – ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College has joined The Jed Foundation (JED) Campus Fundamentals program to support student well-being. The program is a nationwide initiative designed to help colleges evaluate and strengthen programs for students in mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention.

CHADRON – The ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College Art department is preparing to host about 80 high school students for Art Day Tuesday. The event will start at 8:30 a.m. in the Memorial Hall lobby and include three workshop sessions starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m.

CHADRON – The current Mrs. South Dakota and ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College alumna Jenita (Qualm) Derga, of Onida, South Dakota, competed for the 2023 Mrs. America title in Las Vegas in August.

CHADRON – Tuesday, in the final lecture of the fall semester in the Graves Lecture Series at the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center, Justice Studies Instructor Danielle Covolo presented: Sacred Knowledge, a panel discussion about the culture of the Oglala and Lakota people and the Pine Ridge Reservation. The panel included Duane Two Bulls and a singing performance by Virgil RedCloud Goode.

CHADRON – ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College students Sophia Oladimeji and Kosiso Akwanamnye continued the Dine with Us series with a presentation on Nigeria. Their public presentation Tuesday included information about their country’s geography, history, food, economy, tribes, languages, society, and tourism.
