CHADRON – In an article published in The Journal of the Lepidopterists' Society, ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College Professor of Biology Dr. Mathew Brust, and co-authors Stephen M. Spomer and William Bergman, share years of observation about the regal fritillary butterfly of western Nebraska including two main tactics it uses to survive and propagate. First, the butterfly produces an extremely high number of eggs, and second, it tends to be nomadic, depending on rainfall and resulting habitat.

CHADRON – Author, historian, and photographer Jeff Barnes will speak at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College’s Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. The rich and diverse history and heritage of Nebraska as told through its often-secluded historical monuments and markers will be Barnes’ subject. A question-and-answer session will immediately follow.

CHADRON – Dr. Ann Buchman, Professor of Physical and Life Sciences, enjoys volunteering. She plays in a church bell choir, has been an instructor in a medical school in Nepal, and conducted science programs for children at the college and at the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Public Library. CHADRON – During its November meeting in Wayne, Nebraska, the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees approved several new programs, options, and certificates for ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College. They are MBA certificates in Healthcare Management and Digital Marketing, a Media Production minor and option, a Natural Science concentration, a Political Science minor, and a Pre-Art Therapy Option.
