LINCOLN – Governor Jim Pillen has appointed Christopher Jennings to serve as ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College student trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State College System. Jennings will serve out the remainder of the 2024-25 academic year following the resignation of Alec Langan.

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Success Made Accessible through Rural Tutoring (SMART) is expanding its mission to provide high-quality, free tutoring services to K-12 students across rural Nebraska school districts. The program is designed to enhance student success by connecting them with dedicated teacher education candidates from ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State, Peru State, and Wayne State Colleges.

CHADRON – Edward Welsh, a 2004 graduate of ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College, was a guest speaker at Agate Fossil Beds National Monument this summer. Welsh, a park ranger at Badlands National Park in western South Dakota since 2012, presented about a recently discovered genus of a small, hornless deer that he and his colleague Mattison Shreero researched.

CHADRON – The ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College 50th Anniversary Title IX Committee presented local veterinarian Dr. Regina Rankin with The ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College Title IX Trailblazer Award on Sept. 7 during the CSC rodeo in ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ. Since Rankin was unable to receive the award, CSC students and Pre-Veterinary Club members Autumn Skow, Natalie Hamaker, Ashlyn Tapio, and Kiauna Hargens presented the award to Rankin at her Crawford Companion Animal Clinic on Sept. 17.
