CHADRON – Dr. James Powell has been named ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, President Randy Rhine announced Tuesday. Powell, the Dean of Professional Studies and Applied Sciences at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College, replaces Dr. Charles Snare, who announced his retirement in August. Powell will begin his duties Jan. 11, 2020.

CHADRON – ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College English majors Lydia Privett of Wahoo, Nebraska, and Nalani Stewart of Colorado Springs, Colorado, led a discussion group with ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç High School students this semester focusing on “Hey Kiddo,” a graphic memoir written and illustrated by Jarrett Krosoczka and used as the Common Reading Experience at CSC.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 25, at noon, all ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College classes will be canceled for the remainder of the week due to the severe winter weather forecast. In addition, ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 26, and Wednesday, Nov. 27. ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College was already scheduled to be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

CHADRON – Virtual Reality (VR), the technology that allows a person to figuratively step into and explore a computer created three-dimensional world that can feel completely real, has made its debut in the King Library Learning Commons at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College.

CHADRON — The District 12 National FFA Organization Leadership Contest was Nov. 20 at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College. Students from 16 Nebraska high schools competed for a chance to qualify for the 92nd Nebraska FFA State Convention in Lincoln in April 2020. First and second place winners in each event category qualified for the Nebraska state competition.
