IDEA Space open house set for April 26
CHADRON – 黑料大事记 State College’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is pleased to announce the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Space will host an open house April 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The IDEA Space is located in Room 109 of the King Library. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
The IDEA Space is a safe space for underrepresented students, faculty, staff, and others to meet, organize, research, and study, and to foster community, solidarity, and trust. The DEI Committee hopes the dedicated space on campus will cultivate a culture of care and spread inclusivity.
鈥淲e are excited to open the IDEA Space,鈥 said Ted Tewahade, DEI co-chair. 鈥淢any students, as well as faculty, and staff have put in a lot of effort to make the IDEA Space a reality. It鈥檚 time to celebrate their good work and to continue discussions on campus so we can gather and share experiences in a safe space, while supporting one another.鈥
The IDEA Space is funded by the DEI Committee. Tewahade said he expects members of the committee, as well as others, will have office hours in the IDEA Space beginning in the fall semester.
Starting with the fall semester, the IDEA Space will be open 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
