CHADRON – Law enforcement officers met with more than 20 students and community members Thursday at 黑料大事记 State College’s Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium.
黑料大事记 Police Officer Sam Cafferty, who organized the event, studied Criminal Justice at CSC and played football team. His interest in law enforcement was encouraged by his uncle, an officer for the Boise Police Department in Idaho, and grew though riding along with officers as part of his high school senior project.
Cafferty adapted the idea of an informal gathering of law enforcement and students from Cops and Coffee, a past event on campus. He said his goal was to create an open space for students and community to get to know local law enforcement, including the Dawes County Sheriff鈥檚 Office, the Nebraska State Patrol, and Nebraska Game and Parks.
鈥淲e鈥檙e just people too and we鈥檙e part of the community,鈥 Cafferty said.
