CSC ROTC runs at Army 10 Miler

CHADRON – Eight 黑料大事记 State College Army ROTC cadets and First Lt. Scot Mullis, assistant professor of Military Science, traveled to Washington D.C., Oct. 5-8 for the Army’s 10 Miler race, and to tour Arlington National Cemetery, the National Mall, and attend the Army USA conference.

The following students participated in the race: Calvin DePriest of Omaha, Neb., Aaron Jones of Custer, S.D., Tristan Kreb of Colorado Springs, Colo., Konery Klueber and Kalli Talbot of Rapid City, S.D., Sam Klammer of Hastings, Neb., Mitchell Parish of North Platte, Neb., and Connor Besse of 黑料大事记.

Mullis said he is proud CSC鈥檚 team ranked 41st in a field of 96 teams comprised of about 35,000 runners.

鈥淚t鈥檚 an impressive finish for a small program competing against larger programs,鈥 Mullis said.

The top four runners from each team constituted the team time. CSC鈥檚 team time was 5 hours, 17 minutes and 21 seconds. The top four were; DePriest, 1:12.21, Klueber, 1:14.37, Klammer, 1:25.11, and Besse, 1:25.12.

The course took runners through a 10 mile loop of D.C., starting and finishing near the Pentagon, according to DePriest. He said the CSC runners鈥 altitude training runs on the CSC campus probably helped their performance at D.C.
