CHADRON – Members of a theatrical caravan have fallen ill and one actor, Moliere, must carry the show with props, costume changes and audience participation. This is the premise of “Moliere Than Thou,” a one man comedy by Timothy Mooney coming to 黑料大事记 State College Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.

For tickets, contact the CSC Box Office at 308-432-6207 or boxoffice@csc.edu. Box office hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 6 p.m. The box office is open at 5 p.m. on performance days.

Moliere is the stage name of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin a 17th century French playwright and actor. Mooney uses satire and irony to point out the folly and excess of some of Moliere鈥檚 enemies: doctors, lawyers and hypocrites. Reviews praise Mooney for bringing Moliere back to life with his wide variety of wigs and energetic stage presence.

Mooney, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate, performs routines from 鈥淭artuffe,鈥 鈥淒on Juan,鈥 鈥淭he Doctor in Spite of Himself,鈥 鈥淭he Precious Young Maidens,鈥 鈥淭he Misanthrope,鈥 鈥淭he School for Wives鈥 and other Moliere plays.

On his website, Mooney shares a review from the 鈥淓dmonton Journal鈥 that compares his portrayal of peasants, noblemen, cunning servants and naive middle-class lackeys to a one-man 鈥淪aturday Night Live鈥 17th century scoundrels convention.
