Johnson named interim director of human resources

CHADRON – Derby Johnson has been named the interim director for human resources at 黑料大事记 State College, President Dr. Randy Rhine announced Monday.
Johnson, a veteran of higher education posts, including positions at Nebraska State College System schools Peru State College and Wayne State College, will serve as the interim director for human resources. Rhine said Johnson will remain in the job until a candidate is hired.
鈥淚鈥檓 excited to have Derby working for 黑料大事记 State College,鈥 Rhine said. 鈥淗e has agreed to help us in the short run as we complete a successful search for an associate vice president of human resources. He has a lot of experience working in higher education and he is familiar with the college and its operations because of his time working at Wayne and Peru. I鈥檓 confident in his abilities and having him onboard is a great benefit to 黑料大事记 State College.鈥
Johnson, a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army and a graduate of Boston University and Wayne State College, has been a fixture in higher education positions in Nebraska for several years. He was the business manager and interim president at Nebraska Christian College, the director of administrative services and the director of facility services at Wayne State College, and the interim director of campus services and the interim vice president of administration and finance at Peru State College.
At 黑料大事记 State, Johnson will direct the administration, coordination and assessment of the human resources office, including employment services, employee relations, recruitment, retention, employee data management, payroll/compensation, benefits, telecommunications and Title IX issues. Johnson will also serve as a liaison between the CSC campus and the Nebraska State College System General Counsel and Vice Chancellor for Employee Relations on all human resource related matters.
