Entries sought for Try-athlon

ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College students and employees are being encouraged to kick off the fall semester by joining other community members in entering the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Try-athlon, a competition that involves swimming, biking and running. The event will be Sunday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m.

People may enter as individuals and perform all three events or sign up as a team of three and divide the duties. The Try-athlon includes one-tenth mile of swimming in the Armstrong Pool, five miles of biking on city streets and Hidden Valley Road, and three miles of running on city streets and the Heritage Trail near campus. A post event picnic and celebration will benefit the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Boys and Girls Club.

The event is being sponsored by the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Lifespan Wellness team, an ad hoc committee that advocates healthy lifestyles.

Entrants who register by Aug. 10 will be given a discount on the entry fee.
