One faculty music event postponed, another still on
Illness and injury have prompted members of the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College Music Department to postpone one of its two faculty performances scheduled for this week. The faculty recital scheduled for Sunday has been moved to Monday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Chicoine Atrium of the Sandoz Center.
Jim Margetts, chairman of the department, said vocalist Dr. Joel Schreuder is battling a cold and percussionist Dr. Sandy Schaefer is sore after a fall on the ice.
Margetts said the group contemplated having the recital, anyway, but decided to move the date in hope of giving the audience a better performance.
Despite the setback, the Faculty Lounge will present its monthly performance at Wrecker’s Roadhouse in downtown ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The jazz group, which consists largely of CSC faculty members, will play a number of selections suitable for Valentine’s Day, including “My Funny Valentine,” “There Will Never Be Another You” and “All the Things You Are.”
