ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ, Alliance groups joining for concerts
Two Panhandle community chorus groups will join to present concerts in their respective cities Sunday. ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Community Chorus and the Alliance Community Chorus will perform a joint concert Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m. at the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Arts Center. The two groups will then travel to Alliance to put on a show that night.
Dr. Una Taylor, a ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College music faculty member who directs the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç group, said the two choruses will combine to sing Mendelssohn's "Heilig, Heilig, Heilig" and an arrangement of the folk tune "Old Joe Clark.”
The ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Community Chorus will do "Night on the Prairies," which Taylor described as beautiful, and a setting of “Jabberwocky,” the nonsense poem by Lewis Carroll from "Through the Looking Glass.”
Ticket prices for the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç performance are $6 at the door and $5 in advance from the CSC Box Office. Students and employees may obtain the tickets in advance free of charge from the box office.
