Students, others march for Martin Luther King

About 75 people gathered at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç this morning to participate in a walk to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. The group, which primarily consisted of students from ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College and the Pine Ridge Job Corps center south of ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ, marched about 13 blocks along Main Street from downtown to the college’s Student Center. King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech blared from a portable stereo as the group walked.
After the march, a few of the African-American students told about their appreciation of Martin Luther King and what he means to their lives as the group congregated outside the college’s Student Center.
The walk was sponsored by ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State’s diversity committee.
