Scholastic Contest is Friday

Some 1,650 students from 52 high schools in Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming will participate in the 46th annual Inter-High School Scholastic Contest at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College on Friday, April 7.

Forty-eight tests will be administered by ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State faculty members, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Students may take as many as three tests.

Medals will be awarded to the top three individuals in each test. Seniors who win first in a test will receive a Scholastic Achievement Award, which will cover the in-state tuition to attend ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State for one year.

Schools accumulating the most points in each of the five divisions will receive plaques.

The schools entered by division are:

Division I

Alliance, Gering, Rapid City Central, Rapid City Stevens, Scottsbluff.

Division II

Belle Fourche, S.D., ºÚÁÏ´óʼÇ, Glenrock, Wyo., O’Neill, Pine Ridge Job Corps, Sidney, Todd County High at Mission, S.D., Torrington, Wyo., Valentine.

Division III

Ainsworth, Bayard, Bennett County High at Martin, S.D., Bridgeport, Gordon-Rushville, Kimball, Mitchell, Perkins County High at Grant, St. Thomas More at Rapid City, West Holt High at Atkinson, Wright, Wyo.

Division IV

Anselmo-Merna, Banner County High at Harrisburg, Cody-Kilgore, Crawford, Creek Valley High at Chappell, Garden County High at Oshkosh, Hemingford, Kadoka, S.D., Leyton High at Dalton, Minatare, Morrill, Niobrara County High at Lusk, Wyo., Potter-Dix, Rapid City Christian, Stuart, Upton, Wyo., Wall, S.D.

Division V

Arthur, Chambers, Edgemont, S.D., Guernsey-Sunrise, Wyo., Hay Springs, Hyannis, Mullen, Rock County High at Bassett, Sioux County High at Harrison, Thedford.
