New playground equipment at Child Development Center

The children of the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College Child Development Center have one more reason to be excited about attending the daycare facility. New playground equipment was installed at the center last week.
About $5,000 of the $11,100 project was funded with an Elks Crippled Children's Foundation grant. Fund-raisers by the children's parents and families also helped make the installation of the new equipment possible.
Dr. Kim Madsen, the center's director, said the new equipment is part of a strategic plan to upgrade the outdoor playground for the center in preparation for renewal of a national accreditation status and self-study that will be conducted fall 2006 and spring 2007.
The project's volunteers included Bob McEwen, Ann Krejci, Buff Buffacado, the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State maintenance crew, CDC staff and families, Bradley Orr, Jamie McKinnon, Jay Loghry, the Pine Ridge Job Corps, and Jamie and Karen Eisenbarth.
