Three presidential candidates to visit CSC

Three candidates for ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College president are scheduled to visit the campus next Wednesday and Thursday, June 1-2. They are Dr. Jonathan Lawson, former vice president for academic affairs at Idaho State University; Dr. Janie Park, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at Montana State University-Billings; and Dr. John Schwaller, vice chancellor for academic affairs and dean at the University of Minnesota-Morris.

Stan Carpenter, executive director of the Nebraska State College System, said the three candidates received “strong approval” and were invited to campus after the search advisory committee had narrowed down a pool of more than 70 applications and nominations.

Open sessions for community members will be Wednesday at the Chicoine Atrium of the Sandoz Center. They are 4:45-5:15 p.m. for Lawson, 5:30-6 p.m. for Park and 6:15-6:45 p.m. for Schwaller.

This will be the second group of presidential candidates to visit ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State this year. Three visited the campus in January, but none was hired.

The position became vacant when Dr. Thomas Krepel, ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State’s ninth president who has served seven years, announced his resignation in the spring of 2004. His contract will end June 30.
