Students at CSC receive free medical appointments
A new program at ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State College is permitting students to visit ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç medical professionals free of charge.
ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State has contracted with ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç Community Hospital to create a clinic for CSC students in the hospital’s emergency room from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. each weekday morning when classes are in session. The clinic will be staffed by ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State Nurse Ann Dockweiler and a physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner from the hospital.
While the visit is free to the students, cost of x-rays, laboratory work and medication will still be the students’ responsibility.
The hospital is located at 821 Morehead Street, four blocks from the ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State campus. Students must make appointments through the CSC Health Services office.
The clinic is being funded through the spring 2005 semester by money set aside by ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ¼Ç State President Dr. Thomas Krepel to implement Vision 2011, the college’s strategic plan.
The new program began Dec. 3.
