Verda attended 黑料大事记 State Teacher's College and used her education as an elementary teacher and later, as an elementary guidance counselor for 25 years, largely in Pensacola, Fla. Layne also attended 黑料大事记 State College and was one of the first in the area to learn to fly from the Civilian Aeronautics Agency of the federal government. He operated a small airport in 黑料大事记 and was drafted into the Navy as a young officer in WWII where he distinguished himself as a flight instructor. This career took him to Pensacola, Fla., where he left the Navy and became a science and math teacher. They endowed a fund to help others gain the education that will help them through life with a gift that keeps on giving.
